no. Since the barrel was already pressure proofed (confirmed with a gov. stamp) my only concern was the bolt. I figure after ten rounds and no discernable deflection, cracking or warping, I was good to go.

uh no i live in the U.S.
As a licensed gun owner, I can go to a local gun shop and buy powder, shells, primers, whole cartidges, guns and sweet shooting glasses.

I just took my C.O.R.E. It's basically just a hunting course with some gun safety. Also, are .50 caliber rounds even available in anything other than full metal jackets? I wouldn't imagine they designed a bullet that big for hunting...

Woah nicely made! But tell me something, have you been able to get an overpressure round to proof test it? I'm not sure of the logistics of it so you'd have to consult others with knowledge in the field but it might be a good idea to do so.

crazy how you made that on autoCAD

Good job and smart to test that way. Why did you use poplar wood and not synthetic, oak or something harder for the stock? Anyway, vote Pro gun in NOVEMBER. If the DemocRATS have their way, we won't be left with anything. Even the 10/22 is on their list of "assault weapons" to ban. McCaine 08 (the lesser of the evils)

Most people completely waste their spare time on failed projects and the projects they do complete is totally useless. Well you made 50 caliber rifle, so I have no right to talk shit about how you spend your weekends. Nice rifle. Whats the legal requirements that comes along with building a rifle? I'm sure you had to go through some red tape to get that done.

the only thing about home-made .50 rifles is that the recoil is too much. the Barrett M82A1 has an advanced spring system which allows it to reduce the recoil by alot. |
